Question Settings add another layer of customization to your questions that change the player experience for the question. You can mix-and-match the settings for each question.
|Timer||0 - ∞||Controls the time available for players to submit answers.|
|Point Value||0 - ∞||The amount of points available for a correct answer to the question.|
|Speed Bonus Pool||0 - ∞||The pool of points available to players. Issued based on how quickly the player submits the correct answer.|
|Fastest Answer Bonus||0 - ∞||The amount of points awarded to the team with the first correct answer.|
|Special Reward||Freebie or Double||Teams who submit correct answers to this question will earn a Freebie or a Double.|
|Free Wager||Enabled or Disabled||Teams will be able to wager up to 100 of their own points on this question. Incorrect answers will result in a loss of the points they've wagered.|
This lets players know how long they have to answer the question. However, you as the host have ultimate control over when you want to stop accepting answers - you can end questions earlier or later than the set timer for the question.
You can set the amount of points a correct answer to a question is worth. The point value of a question supports both integers and floats.
Available Wagers and Free Wager settings override any Point Value for the question.
Speed Bonus Pool
This setting rewards players based on how fast they've answered the question. You specify the pool of points and the system will use the time it took for the team/player to submit the answer and reward them with points based on how fast they answered.
For example, lets say you set the Speed Bonus Pool to 10 points and the Timer for the question to 1 minute. If James answers the question correctly in 22 seconds, he'll receive 6.33 points. If Susan answers the question correctly in 46 seconds, she'll receive 2.33 points.
The formula to calculate the Speed Bonus is here:
(Question Timer - Answer Speed) / Question Timer * Speed Bonus Pool
Fastest Answer Bonus
Unlike the Speed Bonus Pool where anyone who answers correctly will receive a certain amount of points, the Fastest Answer Bonus only rewards points to the team/player who submitted the first correct answer.
You can reward players who submit correct answers to a question with a Freebie or Double.
This setting lets players wager their current points on a question. If they answer incorrectly, they'll lose the points they wagered. This is the only setting on Trivnow that could result in players losing points.
